March 2024 Update: The Third Thing turns 5! (5 months that is…)
Plus, my Saturn Return DEFINITELY isn't over
I simultaneously feel like I’ve been running The Third Thing all my life and also can’t believe it’s already been five months of stories. This is the most consistent I’ve ever been with a creative project, and I’m already seeing the way a community grows and sticks around when you commit to creating on a regular schedule. I hereby pledge to keep it up!
Because the community is growing and we’re up over 150 free subscribers and 20 paid subscribers, I’m upping my game to make sure you’re getting that sweet, sweet paid content I’ve promised once a month.
I’m envisioning it like this: For now, the bulk of the stories are free. Thursday newsletters will always be free, and for the foreseeable future, so will the essays every other Tuesday. Once a month, paid subscribers will get the inside scoop on the creative work process, my life, and anything else you might like to know (feel free to leave comments asking for what you want!). However, depending on time and requests from paid subscribers, I will likely start adding even more paid content this year. So stay tuned for more!
Still Deep in my Saturn Return
My partner J was laid off back in November and despite his best efforts to find a new position, absolutely nothing has turned up. Our lease renews May 1 and without a second income, we can’t afford to stay here. What are we going to do? NO IDEA! Maybe move to the Western Slope? Maybe move back into the camper? Who knows! What a thrilling time to be alive.
